we were amazingly blessed to have had the opportunity to live through 7 and a half decades of sheer magic. i have never read such beautifully dense and in genius work.

i dont think im alone in thinking that books assigned in school are shit. you hear about all these books and how great they're supposed to be, but all passion and enjoyment for the actual writing disappears once there is an official requirement.

but "a peoples history of the united states" remains in my mind, a literary work of art, even though it was assigned to me in school. i have never read anything like it, it completely sets apart all of the textbook lies that have been virally shoved down our throats since elementary school. all of that Columbus discovered the americas and saved the indians bullshit is analyzed and explained with complete honesty. he killed them all, point blank, and those were MY people, the Arawak race is now almost completely extinct. and its all because of him.

and the pilgrims on the mayflower and Squanto and all that 'everybody became great friends and lived happily ever after' crap, it all goes out the window. lies lies lies.

i have not read enough of his works but am desperately planning on changing that, as i suggest everyone does. you ever wanna know the truth about all these vague historical stories that dont ever make too much sense in our textbooks? read some Zinn, that'll cure you.

It is a true horror that we have lost such a master. Howard Zinn and his work will never be forgotten, and if he and all that he stood for ever is, then the world truly is in the shit.

Fixed Gears...........

WHERE ARE YOUR BRAKES??!!

I really dont understand. yeah it looks good, and its fast. like really fast. hahaha kristen stewart.... "cause they're fast." anyway, i would very much appreciate it if someone could explain the intellignece of purposely removing brakes from a bicycle. if you want to ride fast, maybe you should invest in a car. you know? they go fast. and they can stop when it is necessary to. i get a hearty laugh out of watching tiny little boys on fixxies going so fast and then attempting to stop. theyre tiny asses get tossed, then they're all scraped up and crying. boo fucking hoo, get some damn brakes. i completely understand if it is your proffesion (like my friend Ferrer) but if your in an urban setting and riding like a bat out of hell on telegraph avenue.....your probably gonna get hurt. maybe think ahead a bit.

now on the other hand, it sounds like im hating super hard (kinda am) but i really do enjoy watching fixed gear riders that are good at it and have a real passion for it. i admire and appreciate the skill it takes to have that kind of control in such a volatile setting.

skins series 4

Im like unequivocally too excited for my brain right now. Skins is back!

For some reason the media/televised world always seems a bit better with "Skins" in it. It's such an honest grit filled show. They (the writers) always seem to get teen relations right. Reactions, experiences, craziness, whatever theme of the episode, its always spot on. It doesn't matter who you are, i guarantee there will always be something in that show that you can personally relate to. It's actually quite freeing to see that it is not only me, or you, or us, that goes through these things in life.

panic prevention

panic attacks. i really have no idea how i became so susceptible. crowds, stress, heartache, drugs, alcohol, sheer exhaustion, anything can bring them on. there are so many people that suffer from panic attacks and blackouts without even knowing that they have this weakness within them. its like all of a sudden I'm lightheaded, dizzy and my vision starts barreling. kind of like k-tripping. when you walk and your lost in this fuzzy tunnel world that only exists in your immediate vision. who put the circles in front of my eyes?

a couple of years ago a young british musician emerged crooning of panic prevention and his experiences with attacks and how to get ahold of them, and learn to control them. Jamie T seems to deal a bit. every time i feel the onsets i hear in my mind "so lonely was the ballad".

when the stress gets too much remember to breathe. only you have control of yourself. only you can prevent these instances in yourself. if not prevent, then nurse and make better.

Swamp Donkey (Brendan)

Philosophy behind the name.

A swamp donkey is a moose, yeah. Just a regular moose, significance is the wild. How the wild can and does affect an animal is very interesting. a wild boar is different to a pig because of its tusks, and a saber tooth tiger is just a wild cat with tusks. Swamp donkey asks what would happen to a human being if they were tossed into the wild. Would they grow mammoth tusks and horns as well?
